well, as far as Oktoberfest is concerned, my personal favourite is the Erlanger Bergkirchweih: better Beer, better Music and better party.
anyway also the Oktoberfest has it's moments, i remember being there in a tiny Duck roastery in the mid 90's, with only about 200 seats (compared to 5000 man Tents from the local breweries)
anyway after the 4th or 5th mass, i remember dancin on the tables beside an old guy from the states, who turned out to be a D-day vet from utah beach.
He was also smashed and meant that he was glad for going all through this shit, by seeing a result like this.
That kind of stuff you will only find at the OKTOBERFEST
